3G2 to F4V Converter
Processing entirely on your device — large files may take a moment.
3GPP2 Mobile Video and Flash MP4 Video exist for different jobs: 3G2 is the CDMA-era mobile video format — tiny, low-resolution clips from old feature phones. F4V converts to MP4 with zero quality change — it is the same H.264 video in a different box.
This converter runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly — your files never leave your device, nothing is uploaded, and there are no watermarks, sign-ups or queues. Drop in several files at once to convert them as a batch.
How 3G2 compares to F4V
| 3G2 | F4V | |
|---|---|---|
| Compression | H.263 / baseline H.264 | H.264 + AAC |
| Quality | Low resolution | Preserved as-is |
| Compatibility | Legacy CDMA phones | Legacy Flash tooling |
| Best for | Old mobile clips | Flash-era H.264 archives |

About the 3G2 format
3G2 is the 3GPP2 variant of the mobile video format family, born on CDMA networks (Verizon, KDDI) where 3GP ruled GSM sides. Structurally it is a cousin of MP4 carrying H.263 or H.264 baseline video with QCELP/EVRC or AMR audio.
It shares 3GP's fate: low-resolution clips trapped on old phones. Conversion to MP4 is lossless in spirit — the pixels simply move into a container every modern device accepts.
+ Strengths
- ✓Tiny files for its era
- ✓Structurally close to MP4 — clean conversions
! Limitations
- −Low resolution and quality ceiling
- −Obsolete outside old CDMA phones
About the F4V format
F4V is Adobe's later Flash Video container, introduced when Flash Player gained H.264 support around 2007. Internally it is an ISO-base-media file — the same family as MP4 — so an F4V is essentially an MP4 with a different extension and Flash-era metadata.
Conversion to MP4 is a container change, not a re-encode: the H.264 video and AAC audio pass through intact. That makes F4V→MP4 one of the cleanest conversions in the whole format zoo — quality is byte-identical.
+ Strengths
- ✓Modern H.264/AAC inside
- ✓Converts to MP4 without quality loss
! Limitations
- −Dead ecosystem (Flash ended in 2020)
- −Some players dislike the extension
Why convert 3G2 to F4V?
Think of it as moving your file to the container that fits the job. Low resolution and quality ceiling F4V works differently: Modern H.264/AAC inside If any of that sounds like your task, run the conversion — it takes seconds and nothing leaves your device.
Frequently asked questions
Is this 3G2 to F4V converter really free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily conversion limits. The site is supported by advertising.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device — that is what makes it instant and private.
Does it work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?
Yes. Anything with a modern browser works: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. No software installation is required.
Is there a file size limit for 3G2 to F4V?
The only limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded. Files up to a few hundred megabytes work fine on a modern desktop browser; very large files simply take a little longer.
Will the audio track be kept?
Yes. The audio is carried over and re-encoded to the standard audio codec of F4V, staying in sync with the video. If your 3G2 file has multiple audio tracks, the first one is used.
Does converting 3G2 to F4V re-encode my video?
Yes. The video is decoded and re-encoded with the settings chosen by the quality slider, which is what allows the format and size to change. For an archival copy, keep higher quality; for sharing, lower quality gives a much smaller file.
