CAD Converters

Turn DXF drawings into SVG, PNG or PDF right in your browser — geometry only, no AutoCAD needed.

CAD drawings are precision documents: every line is a real-world coordinate, every arc a measured radius. The native formats guard that precision jealously — DWG is binary and proprietary, and even the open interchange format DXF is meaningless without a parser. That is why “just open the drawing” has required CAD software for forty years.

These converters do one honest thing: parse the drawing entities — lines, arcs, polylines, ellipses, text — and place them at their exact coordinates in SVG, PNG or PDF. What you get is reviewable, printable and shareable. What you do not get is CAD semantics: layer colours, line weights, dimension styles and block attributes stay behind. Use it to look at a drawing; use CAD to change it.

DXF only, and that is a line we hold: DWG and DWF are binary formats whose reliable parsing needs libraries that do not exist in the browser yet. DXF is the interchange format every CAD system exports, so almost any drawing can reach these pages by saving it as DXF first.

DXF Drawing Exchange Format

DXF is AutoCAD’s open interchange format — an ASCII/text description of drawing entities (lines, arcs, polylines, text) that predates DWG.
