AIFF to OGG Converter
Processing entirely on your device — large files may take a moment.
Ogg is the standard choice for open-source software, game engines and free platforms. If your files are still in AIFF format, this page is the shortcut: AIFF is Apple’s uncompressed audio format, the Mac-side cousin of WAV used in professional audio work.
iLoveConverter processes everything locally on your computer, which makes it private and fast: no upload wait, no server storage, no limits. Add as many files as you like — batch conversion is built in.
How AIFF compares to OGG

About the AIFF format
AIFF is Apple's counterpart to WAV: uncompressed PCM in an IFF container, born with the classic Mac in 1988. It stores the same bit-perfect audio as WAV but carries metadata far better — iTunes-era tags, cover art and loop points all fit natively, which made it the default of Logic Pro and Mac-based audio production.
Functionally the WAV-versus-AIFF choice is platform history: same quality, same sizes, AIFF friendlier on Mac, WAV friendlier everywhere else. Converting between them is a lossless retagging exercise, nothing more.
+ Strengths
- ✓Bit-perfect uncompressed audio
- ✓Better metadata support than WAV
- ✓Native to macOS and Logic Pro
! Limitations
- −Same bulk as WAV (~10 MB/minute)
- −Windows tooling historically prefers WAV
About the OGG format
OGG usually means the Ogg container carrying Vorbis audio — the open-source answer to MP3 from 2000. Vorbis delivered better quality than MP3 at the same bitrate and cost nothing to license, so it spread through game engines (Valve titles), open-source apps and streaming startups. It is technically a container format, so OGG files can also hold Opus or FLAC.
Hardware support was always its ceiling: phones and car systems were slow to add Vorbis, and Opus (also Ogg-based) has since surpassed it technically. Today OGG/Vorbis is best understood as a game-audio and open-ecosystem format.
+ Strengths
- ✓Royalty-free with good quality-per-bit
- ✓Native in game engines and open-source stacks
- ✓Container flexibility (Vorbis/Opus/FLAC)
! Limitations
- −Patchy hardware and car support
- −Technically surpassed by Opus
Why convert AIFF to OGG?
Think of it as moving your file to the container that fits the job. Same bulk as WAV (~10 MB/minute) OGG works differently: Royalty-free with good quality-per-bit If any of that sounds like your task, run the conversion — it takes seconds and nothing leaves your device.
Frequently asked questions
Is this AIFF to OGG converter really free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily conversion limits. The site is supported by advertising.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device — that is what makes it instant and private.
Does it work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?
Yes. Anything with a modern browser works: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. No software installation is required.
Is there a file size limit for AIFF to OGG?
The only limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded. Files up to a few hundred megabytes work fine on a modern desktop browser; very large files simply take a little longer.
Will converting AIFF to OGG reduce audio quality?
If OGG is lossless, the output contains everything the AIFF file contains — no further loss is added. If OGG is lossy, one recompression pass is unavoidable; the quality slider controls how much. Loss that already happened in the source file can never be undone by converting.
Can I convert a whole folder of AIFF files?
You can select many files at once and they are processed in a single batch. Output files land in one ZIP download when there is more than one result.
