EPS to JPE Converter
Processing entirely on your device — large files may take a moment.
EPS is Encapsulated PostScript — a single-page PostScript program with a bounding box, the lingua franca of print shops, logo delivery and pre-2010 clipart. Ghostscript renders it pixel-perfect. Older cameras and Windows tools sometimes save photos as .jpe; convert them to modern formats or hand the extension whatever a form demands.
iLoveConverter processes everything locally on your computer, which makes it private and fast: no upload wait, no server storage, no limits. Add as many files as you like — batch conversion is built in.

About the EPS format
EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) is a single-page PostScript program with a bounding-box comment — the format print shops, logo designers and stock-art libraries standardized on because it could describe any artwork at any resolution with pure vector commands. If a file must print identically at billboard size and business-card size, it was probably an EPS.
Ghostscript renders EPS pixel-perfectly, which is exactly what this converter does: the vector program executes in the browser's Ghostscript engine and lands as PNG, JPG or PDF — no Illustrator license required.
+ Strengths
- ✓Resolution-independent vector description
- ✓Print-industry lingua franca for decades
- ✓Renders faithfully via Ghostscript
! Limitations
- −Screens cannot display it natively
- −Preview TIFF inside is often stale
- −Security-sensitive as any PostScript
About the JPE format
JPG (short for JPEG, the Joint Photographic Experts Group committee that standardized it in 1992) has been the default photo format for over three decades. It compresses photographs using the discrete cosine transform: the image is split into 8×8 blocks, and details the human eye is bad at noticing are discarded. The result is files many times smaller than uncompressed data, at a quality level you control when saving.
In practice JPG is unbeatable for photographs and smooth gradients — camera memory cards, messaging apps and the web all assume it. It is a poor fit for screenshots, logos or anything with sharp edges and flat color, where compression leaves visible ringing around text. There is no transparency support, color depth is capped at 8 bits per channel, and every re-save with compression compounds tiny generational losses.
+ Strengths
- ✓Opens on literally every device, app and browser made in the last 30 years
- ✓Compresses photos dramatically — typically 10:1 or better with little visible loss
- ✓Quality level is adjustable, so you can trade fidelity for file size
- ✓Mature ecosystem: EXIF metadata, ICC profiles and progressive loading all supported
! Limitations
- −Lossy — artifacts appear on text, sharp edges and flat areas
- −No transparency, so overlays and logos need PNG or WebP instead
- −Repeated re-saving at low quality permanently degrades the image
Why convert EPS to JPE?
Converting makes sense where the strengths of JPE meet what EPS cannot give you. Opens on literally every device, app and browser made in the last 30 years Meanwhile Screens cannot display it natively One pass through the converter above puts your file on the right side of that trade-off.
Frequently asked questions
Is this EPS to JPE converter really free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily conversion limits. The site is supported by advertising.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device — that is what makes it instant and private.
Does it work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?
Yes. Anything with a modern browser works: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. No software installation is required.
Will converting EPS to JPE reduce quality?
JPE uses lossy compression, so a small amount of recompression is unavoidable. The quality slider lets you choose between maximum fidelity and smallest file size — the default is visually indistinguishable for photos.
Can I convert DWG files here?
No. DWG is a binary format without a reliable browser-side parser. Save the drawing as DXF in your CAD software first — every CAD system can export it.
Is the scale of the drawing preserved?
Coordinates are preserved exactly. The output fits the drawing extents into the page or canvas, so measurements on screen are relative — the underlying coordinates stay true.
