F4V to AC3 Converter
Processing entirely on your device — large files may take a moment.
Converting AC3 to MP3 or WAV makes DVD audio tracks usable anywhere. If your files are still in F4V format, this page is the shortcut: F4V is Adobe Flash Player's later H.264-based video container — same essence as MP4, delivered through the Flash era.
This converter runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly — your files never leave your device, nothing is uploaded, and there are no watermarks, sign-ups or queues. Drop in several files at once to convert them as a batch.

About the F4V format
F4V is Adobe's later Flash Video container, introduced when Flash Player gained H.264 support around 2007. Internally it is an ISO-base-media file — the same family as MP4 — so an F4V is essentially an MP4 with a different extension and Flash-era metadata.
Conversion to MP4 is a container change, not a re-encode: the H.264 video and AAC audio pass through intact. That makes F4V→MP4 one of the cleanest conversions in the whole format zoo — quality is byte-identical.
+ Strengths
- ✓Modern H.264/AAC inside
- ✓Converts to MP4 without quality loss
! Limitations
- −Dead ecosystem (Flash ended in 2020)
- −Some players dislike the extension
About the AC3 format
AC3 (Dolby Digital) is the surround format of the DVD era and still the standard audio track on Blu-rays and broadcast TV. It carries 5.1 channels at 384–640 kbps — built to make home theatre rumble. Extracted from discs or remuxed downloads, .ac3 files are common on everyone's drive.
Phones and most editors do not decode it. The practical move is conversion: MP3 for listening, WAV when the audio is destined for editing. Both keep the mix you know — just in a format every device handles.
+ Strengths
- ✓True 5.1 surround from disc sources
- ✓The DVD/Blu-ray audio standard
! Limitations
- −Almost no mobile or web support
- −Lossy — downmixing loses the surround image
Why convert F4V to AC3?

Frequently asked questions
Is this F4V to AC3 converter really free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily conversion limits. The site is supported by advertising.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device — that is what makes it instant and private.
Does it work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?
Yes. Anything with a modern browser works: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. No software installation is required.
Is there a file size limit for F4V to AC3?
The only limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded. Files up to a few hundred megabytes work fine on a modern desktop browser; very large files simply take a little longer.
Will the audio track be kept?
Yes. The audio is carried over and re-encoded to the standard audio codec of AC3, staying in sync with the video. If your F4V file has multiple audio tracks, the first one is used.
Does converting F4V to AC3 re-encode my video?
Yes. The video is decoded and re-encoded with the settings chosen by the quality slider, which is what allows the format and size to change. For an archival copy, keep higher quality; for sharing, lower quality gives a much smaller file.
