IPYNB to MHT Converter
Processing entirely on your device — large files may take a moment.
Jupyter Notebook and MHTML Web Archive exist for different jobs: IPYNB is the Jupyter Notebook format: a JSON document mixing markdown cells, code cells, outputs and metadata. It is the default medium of data-science work — every analysis, tutorial and Kaggle kernel lives in one. Convert MHT archives to PDF for clean printing, or extract the readable document from a saved page.
This converter runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly — your files never leave your device, nothing is uploaded, and there are no watermarks, sign-ups or queues. Drop in several files at once to convert them as a batch.
How IPYNB compares to MHT
| IPYNB | MHT | |
|---|---|---|
| Layout | Cell-based JSON document | Flowing, CSS-controlled |
| Editability | Jupyter / VS Code | Plain-text editable |
| Structure | JSON + embedded outputs | Tag semantics |
| Best for | Data science, teaching, analysis | Web pages and shareable documents |

About the IPYNB format
The Jupyter Notebook (.ipynb) is the working document of data science: a JSON array mixing markdown cells for narrative, code cells for Python/R/Julia, and their captured outputs — tables, charts, errors. Every Kaggle kernel, tutorial and analysis memo is one.
Notebooks are awkward to read outside Jupyter, and impossible to hand to management as-is. Converting to Markdown/Word/HTML turns the narrative plus results into a shareable report — or turns a written report into a ready-to-fill notebook skeleton.
+ Strengths
- ✓Narrative + code + outputs in one artifact
- ✓The lingua franca of data-science workflows
- ✓Executables — results can be reproduced
! Limitations
- −JSON is unreadable without Jupyter
- −Outputs bloat files and leak secrets
- −Merge conflicts are notoriously painful
About the MHT format
HTML is the markup language of the web itself. A document is plain text decorated with tags that describe structure — headings, paragraphs, lists, links, tables, images — and browsers turn that structure into a rendered, styled page. It is both a format and a program target: CSS styles it and JavaScript makes it interactive.
As a document format, HTML's strength is universality: any device with a browser displays it, text stays selectable and searchable, and links make it navigable. Its weakness is that rendering depends on the surrounding CSS and viewport, so it is a flowing document, not a fixed-layout one — printing or archiving an HTML page is inherently an approximation.
+ Strengths
- ✓Displays on every device with a browser
- ✓Semantic structure: headings, links, tables, media
- ✓Text remains selectable, searchable and accessible
! Limitations
- −Final look depends on CSS and viewport
- −Not a fixed-layout or print format
- −Untrusted HTML must be sanitized before display
Why convert IPYNB to MHT?
Converting makes sense where the strengths of MHT meet what IPYNB cannot give you. Displays on every device with a browser Meanwhile JSON is unreadable without Jupyter One pass through the converter above puts your file on the right side of that trade-off.
Frequently asked questions
Is this IPYNB to MHT converter really free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily conversion limits. The site is supported by advertising.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device — that is what makes it instant and private.
Does it work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?
Yes. Anything with a modern browser works: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. No software installation is required.
Is there a file size limit for IPYNB to MHT?
The only limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded. Files up to a few hundred megabytes work fine on a modern desktop browser; very large files simply take a little longer.
Can I edit the MHT result afterwards?
That depends on the target: MHT is designed for what it does, and this converter reproduces its content faithfully rather than inventing editable structure. For heavy re-editing, work from a format built for editing and export the final version here.
Will the layout of my IPYNB file be preserved exactly?
This converter renders your IPYNB content into MHT with pages, proportions and images kept as close to the original as the target format allows. Use the preview before downloading to confirm it looks the way you expect.
