OTC to TTF Converter
Processing entirely on your device — large files may take a moment.
TTF is what design tools, word processors and operating systems install directly — the reference copy of any typeface. If your files are still in OTC format, this page is the shortcut: OTC is the CFF-flavored OpenType collection — the same ttcf container carrying PostScript-outline members instead of TrueType ones.
iLoveConverter processes everything locally on your computer, which makes it private and fast: no upload wait, no server storage, no limits. Add as many files as you like — batch conversion is built in.

About the OTC format
TTC (TrueType Collection) is how you ship five CJK fonts in one download: a small ttcf header with member offsets points into shared glyph tables, so the fonts that differ only in metrics cost almost nothing extra. Microsoft's SimSun family and macOS system fonts are TTCs.
Most font tools want a single font, not a collection — extraction picks the first member and trims it to its own table directory, producing an ordinary TTF that every converter and @font-face rule accepts.
+ Strengths
- ✓Shared glyphs make multi-font files small
- ✓Standard on Windows and macOS for CJK
- ✓First member extracts to a clean TTF
! Limitations
- −Most apps cannot use a collection directly
- −Web @font-face does not accept TTC
- −Members share glyphs — editing one is tricky
About the TTF format
TTF (TrueType, Apple & Microsoft, 1991) is the founding modern font format: quadratic Bézier outlines, sophisticated hinting instructions that keep text crisp on low-DPI screens, and a data structure every operating system understands. Installing a TTF is a double-click; it works in Word, Photoshop, browsers and games alike.
For the web, raw TTF is inefficient: no compression, and bytes render before CSS finishes layout decisions. The modern path is converting TTF to WOFF2 for @font-face — same outlines, a third of the size — while the desktop copy stays as-is.
+ Strengths
- ✓Installs and runs on every OS
- ✓Mature hinting for small-size rendering
- ✓Universally supported in design and office apps
! Limitations
- −Uncompressed — heavy for web delivery
- −Quadratic curves convert lossily to cubic-based tools
Why convert OTC to TTF?
Converting makes sense where the strengths of TTF meet what OTC cannot give you. Installs and runs on every OS Meanwhile Most apps cannot use a collection directly One pass through the converter above puts your file on the right side of that trade-off.
Frequently asked questions
Is this OTC to TTF converter really free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily conversion limits. The site is supported by advertising.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device — that is what makes it instant and private.
Does it work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?
Yes. Anything with a modern browser works: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. No software installation is required.
Is there a file size limit for OTC to TTF?
The only limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded. Files up to a few hundred megabytes work fine on a modern desktop browser; very large files simply take a little longer.
Does converting OTC to TTF change how the font looks?
No. The glyph outlines are carried over as they are — conversion changes the container and compression, not the shapes your users see.
Can I install the TTF file on my computer?
That depends on the target: desktop systems install TTF/OTF files directly, while TTF is a web container meant to be served with @font-face rather than installed. Keep the original for desktop use.
