RST POTX
100% private — files never leave your device

reStructuredText and PowerPoint Template (OOXML) exist for different jobs: reStructuredText is the markup of the Python world — Sphinx documentation, PyPI READMEs, docstrings tooling. Underline-style headings, directives and cross-references, designed for technical docs that scale. Convert POTX templates to PDF or PNG to preview the design.

Because the whole conversion happens on your device, it is instant, unlimited and genuinely private — no accounts, no watermarks, no files on anyone's server. Multiple files are converted in one go.

About the RST format

reStructuredText is the markup the Python world standardized on: Sphinx builds entire documentation sites from it, PyPI renders it as project descriptions, and tools like docutils parse it. Headings are underlined with punctuation, and directives like .. image:: and .. code-block:: extend the vocabulary without breaking plain-text readability.

RST is stricter than Markdown by design — that strictness is what makes large documentation trees consistent. Converting RST into Markdown or Word opens Sphinx projects to the rest of the team; converting Markdown back into RST feeds content into a Sphinx build.

+Strengths

  • ✓The native format of Sphinx/Python docs
  • ✓Consistent at scale: directives, roles, xrefs
  • ✓Tables and admonitions as first-class syntax

!Limitations

  • −Less widely known than Markdown
  • −Stricter rules have a learning curve
  • −Some directives are toolchain-specific

About the POTX format

PPTX is the modern PowerPoint deck: a zip of XML parts describing slides, shapes, text runs and media. That structure is exactly why text can be extracted faithfully without PowerPoint — every word on every slide is in the package, with its slide number.

One honest limit: extraction is about words, not looks. Slide layouts, backgrounds, animations and images do not survive a text export — the output is the content of the deck, not a picture of it.

+Strengths

  • ✓Text and slide order preserved exactly
  • ✓Opens in PowerPoint, Keynote, WPS, Slides
  • ✓Zip+XML structure is machine-friendly

!Limitations

  • −Text export loses layout and visuals
  • −Charts and tables flatten to text

Why convert RST to POTX?

Think of it as moving your file to the container that fits the job. Less widely known than Markdown POTX works differently: Text and slide order preserved exactly If any of that sounds like your task, run the conversion — it takes seconds and nothing leaves your device.

Frequently asked questions

Is this RST to POTX converter really free?

Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily conversion limits. The site is supported by advertising.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device — that is what makes it instant and private.

Does it work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?

Yes. Anything with a modern browser works: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. No software installation is required.

Is there a file size limit for RST to POTX?

The only limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded. Files up to a few hundred megabytes work fine on a modern desktop browser; very large files simply take a little longer.

Can I convert a password-protected deck?

No — protected decks are encrypted in the package. Remove the protection in the original application first.

Does the conversion include images and backgrounds?

No. This is a text extraction: words on slides survive, layouts, backgrounds, animations and pictures do not. Keep the original deck for the visuals.
