WPG to SVG Converter
Processing entirely on your device — large files may take a moment.
WordPerfect Graphics and SVG Vector Graphic exist for different jobs: WPG is the embedded-graphics format of WordPerfect Office — vector and bitmap drawings from 1990s documents, still found in legal and government archives. Because only browsers and design tools handle SVG natively, exporting it to PNG or JPG makes the artwork usable in Office documents, photo editors and ordinary apps.
Because the whole conversion happens on your device, it is instant, unlimited and genuinely private — no accounts, no watermarks, no files on anyone's server. Multiple files are converted in one go.
How WPG compares to SVG
| WPG | SVG | |

| Transparency | Supported | Native (it is just geometry) |
| Animation | Not supported | SMIL, CSS, JS |

About the WPG format
WPG is the graphics format of WordPerfect Office, the word processor that dominated North American law offices and government agencies through the 1990s. WPG files embed both vector line art and bitmaps, which is why they still surface inside archived legal filings and municipal records.
Nothing modern reads WPG natively. Converting WPG to PNG rescues those drawings into a format that drops into any document, wiki or image library without a WordPerfect installation.
+Strengths
- ✓Holds both vector and bitmap art
- ✓Compact for its era
- ✓Widely present in legal archives
!Limitations
- −Legacy format, no modern support
- −Vector data may rasterize on convert
About the SVG format
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is the W3C's XML-based vector format. Instead of pixels, it stores shapes — paths, circles, polygons, text — as math, which means an SVG logo is a few kilobytes and stays perfectly sharp from a 16-pixel favicon to a billboard. Browsers render it natively, CSS can restyle it, and it scales with zero quality decisions to make.
It is the wrong tool for photographs — vectorizing a photo produces enormous, slow files. It is also worth remembering that SVG is executable XML: files from untrusted sources can carry scripts, so sites typically sanitize uploads. For icons, logos, charts and flat illustration, nothing else comes close.
+Strengths
- ✓Infinitely scalable with zero quality loss
- ✓Tiny files for icons and geometric art
- ✓Styleable and animatable with CSS and JavaScript
- ✓Text stays selectable and searchable
!Limitations
- −Unsuitable for photographs — files explode in size
- −Complex hand-drawn illustrations can grow heavy too
- −Untrusted SVG can embed scripts and needs sanitizing

Frequently asked questions
Is this WPG to SVG converter really free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily conversion limits. The site is supported by advertising.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device — that is what makes it instant and private.
Does it work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?
Yes. Anything with a modern browser works: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. No software installation is required.
Will I lose quality converting WPG to SVG?
No — SVG is a lossless format, so every pixel of the converted image matches your original WPG file. You can also adjust the quality/size balance before converting when the target format supports compression.
Can I convert several WPG files at once?
Yes — drop as many files as you like into the tool and they are converted in one batch. When more than one file comes out, everything is bundled into a ZIP for a single download.
Will transparent areas survive the conversion to SVG?
Transparency is kept whenever SVG actually supports an alpha channel. If the target format has none (like JPG), transparent areas are flattened onto a white background — that is a property of the format, not of this tool.
