MediaWiki to EPUB Converter
Processing entirely on your device — large files may take a moment.
MediaWiki wikitext is the markup behind Wikipedia and thousands of wiki farms: double-brace templates, equals-sign headings and [[links]]. Converting means moving knowledge between wikis and the rest of the document world. EPUB readers follow you everywhere, but the content is locked in the container — extracting it as text, HTML or a simple PDF unlocks copy, search and printing.
iLoveConverter processes everything locally on your computer, which makes it private and fast: no upload wait, no server storage, no limits. Add as many files as you like — batch conversion is built in.

About the MediaWiki format
MediaWiki wikitext is the markup behind Wikipedia and its thousands of clones: =Headings=, [[internal links]], {{templates}} and <ref> citations. An enormous amount of public knowledge — encyclopedic, historical, technical — exists only in this syntax.
Wikis rarely export gracefully, and Markdown tools rarely import wikitext at all. A converter lets you take wiki content into proper documents (Word, EPUB, Markdown) — or publish your Markdown content back into a wiki in its own dialect.
+ Strengths
- ✓The format of Wikipedia-scale knowledge bases
- ✓Templates and citations as first-class citizens
- ✓Versioned and linked by the wiki engine
! Limitations
- −Dialects vary between wiki farms
- −Templates rarely convert meaningfully
- −Readability suffers without a wiki renderer
About the EPUB format
EPUB is the open standard of e-books (IDPF, now W3C): a ZIP package of XHTML chapters, CSS styling and metadata, rendered reflowably on any screen size. Text re-wraps to your phone, your e-reader and your monitor; font size, margins and typography belong to the reader, not the publisher. EPUB3 adds fixed-layout support, media overlays (read-aloud) and rich semantics.
It is the universal format of every ebook platform except Kindle (Amazon accepts EPUB uploads since 2022 but converts internally). DRM is optional — many EPUBs are open, library books use Adobe ADE encryption. For text-centric books it is the right long-term choice; heavily designed print layouts survive conversion imperfectly.
+ Strengths
- ✓Reflows to any screen — the point of e-books
- ✓Open standard, future-proof, tool-rich
- ✓Accepted by every store and reader app
! Limitations
- −Kindle devices still need conversion to Kindle formats
- −Complex print layouts translate imperfectly
- −DRM variants need specific readers

Frequently asked questions
Is this MediaWiki to EPUB converter really free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily conversion limits. The site is supported by advertising.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device — that is what makes it instant and private.
Does it work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?
Yes. Anything with a modern browser works: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. No software installation is required.
Is there a file size limit for MediaWiki to EPUB?
The only limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded. Files up to a few hundred megabytes work fine on a modern desktop browser; very large files simply take a little longer.
Does the conversion work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, the conversion itself runs entirely inside your browser — you can even disconnect and keep converting. No file ever touches a server.
Can I edit the EPUB result afterwards?
That depends on the target: EPUB is designed for what it does, and this converter reproduces its content faithfully rather than inventing editable structure. For heavy re-editing, work from a format built for editing and export the final version here.
